3 things I learned from 30 minutes with a Billionaire
A few weeks ago I had a phenomenal conversation with a billionaire who reached out to me through one of my current clients ( how I love referrals š„°), and I was reminded of so many things about life and business during our conversation.
Here are a three key things I believe will be of high service to you:
1. Billionaires are people FIRST.
~
Yes, I know you know this on a surface level but I understand how intimidating it can be to interact with someone who makes ridiculous levels of money.
What you have to realize is money is simply moneyā¦ thatās itā¦ thatās all.
Multi millionaires and billionaires are people first and you must treat them as such in order to build solid relationship and trust.
They are not looking for someone to essentially kiss their ass, they have enough of those around already š.
What they are typically looking for is real human connection and for to see them as the person they are, not the money they have. We had so much fun chatting about our lives and businesses.
Our conversation felt natural, like catching up with an old friend.
I wasnāt impressed by his accomplishments or money.
What I was impressed by was who he was at a soul level and his willingness to be vulnerable.
2. Donāt underestimate your brilliance because someone is always watching in admiration from afar.
~
Going into our conversation I knew he wanted to talk about coaching and creating a coaching arm in his business. Heās been an angel investor to many businesses as well as a mentor to many Silicon Valley startups.
The problem was his schedule is packed with all these mentoring and support calls.
While he definitely is a big philanthropist and loves to giving back, he understands how valuable his knowledge and time is.
Meaning, itās time to create a framework that allows him to get paid for his coaching and mentoring services.
But he wasnāt quite sure how to go about it.
He heard great things about me through some of his business associates, followed me on social, and liked the way I ran my coaching business.
He wanted to implement a similar methodology into his business and he asked for my help.
It took me less than 10 minutes to create a bespoke framework for him to implement that would support his new coaching business.
Many of you may have the mindset of, ā What could I teach a billionaire?ā
Turns out you can teach them A LOT!
Stop underestimating your gifts.
3. Keys to the kingdom Aka Access to the Network.
~
At a certain level itās not necessarily what you know, itās who you know. And although it may sound clichĆ©, itās absolutely true.
My time was almost up with the billionaire and he said that our conversation was one of the best, most informative and energizing calls heās had in a long time. And he could see why people pay me what they do. š
He asked me how he could support me since I had done so much for himā¦ well sir Iām glad you asked. ( donāt be afraid to tell someone what you really want)
You see this man, besides being a billionaire, was the Regional Chair of an international elite organization for executives and entrepreneurs who have net-worthās between $30M-Multiple billions. And I have been slowly working my way into their eco-system.
This organization is a goldmine of potential clientele for me. Some of their members have already been private clients of mine , but I hadnāt yet been able to connect with the founders and key leaders in the organization.
That was until my new billionaire friend made one call that directly connected me and the VP of the organization!
He also introduced me a friend of his who is the Founder and managing partner of a VC Fund who has been looking for someone with my skill set to coach him personally and support some of the leaders of his organization.
Itās not easy to gain access to a billionaires network, or access to the network of anyone with significance.
But once you do, honor the gift you have been given. Act like you deserve to be there, because you do.
More multi million dollar contracts and deals are done through personal calls from someone in your contacts, than in a boardroom.
There was a lot more that I took away from our short conversation and I will share it all with you soon.
For now, I hope you found the golden nuggets in what I have already shared with you and begin implement them into your life and business.
Iām on a mission to normalize women making billions, and itās happening!
Ciao š
